Dr. Drunk Presents: FUCK

And so ends another month here at the blog. And today I'm offering up another collection compiled by yours truly. This one paying tribute to one of the most powerful words in the English language: FUCK. Scary word, isn't it? Some people certainly seem to think so. But not around here. In fact we embrace it! Feed off of it really. So here's 60 minutes featuring the greatest word ever uttered. Enjoy!

The Meatmen - Rock 'N' Roll Juggernaut

You really thought I was going to make it through a month I called "Feb-RUDE-ary" without a Meatmen post? C'mon people, it's like you don't even know me at all!! Here's the meat-boys rockin' 1986 release. Another tasty slab.
By the way, anyone have their 'Happy Fucking Easter, Asshole' 7" or their 7" split with ANTiSEEN from last year? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Stinky Finger - Def & Dum

Today's post: Stinky Finger. Entertainingly ridiculous (or ridiculously entertaining?!) punk rap from 1988. Now, I really know nothing about this band. I remember way back when a friend of my brother made him a tape with this on it, which is how I got it. But eventually it was lost to the sands of time. That is, until it surfaced on the blog Digital Meltd0wn a few years back. From there I learned that Stinky Finger was apparently the Pride of East Tennessee. And also I was finally able to remember just what it was that made me like it so much. Give it a listen and see what you think.

Satanic Threat - In To Hell 7"

Here's a clever one. Some guys got together in 2008 and decided to pay tribute to the Minor Threat classic 'Out Of Step'. The catch, they also pay tribute to Satan. Great stuff. It was re-released as a CD last year with bonus live tracks. But, sorry kids, this is the 10 minute version.

White Pride - Your Loss Is Our Gain

Speaking of 'overtly racial overtones' (and we were yesterday weren't we?), here's a band that loudly announced them, albeit "jokingly". They had no official release, although a label took a few of their demo tracks and released a 7" in 1990. And here's the message included on that label:

White Pride formed in 1982 primarily to piss-off and provoke everyone. After recording a 13 song demo in 1983 and playing a total of 4 live shows, the joke wore thin and the band called it quits.

The demo eventually made its way into the hands of neo nazis who then put together and released, well, this CD. So, enjoy the obnoxious ignorance, abhor the blatant hate speech, or just plain ignore it altogether. There is no wrong answer. Hey, it's a free internet.

Tattooed Mother Fuckers - Hate Edge

We've had a lot of fun this month (well I have anyway), but we're really going to try and push the boundaries of taste this weekend. When T.M.F. called themselves English Rose they flew the R.A.C. banner. Not here however, at least not musically. Don't get me wrong, by no means is this stuff "peace punk". There are just no overtly racial overtones.

Raped Teenagers - Kalas Puffar

Raped Teenagers were a Swedish hardcore band. Since I don't speak Swedish I have no idea if their lyrics could be considered rude enough to be included in "Feb-RUDE-ary" but c'mon, they call themselves Raped Teenagers! Good stuff, tho.

Harry Pussy - In An Emergency You Can Shit On A Puerto Rican Whore

Harry Pussy was a loud Noise Rock outfit out of Miami. Actually, the music is not so much rude as it is uncomfortable. I'm guessing this is what your parents heard when you listened to your music way back when. And, as a footnote, I can neither confirm nor deny the validity of the album title.

Butt Trumpet - Board Stiff

Butt Trumpet started in L.A. in the early 90's. By 1994'2 release Primitive Enema they had offended a lot of people. Not sure if this one is an actual release or not. But here it is all the same. Also, not even sure I've included the correct cover, but I found this pic online and went with it. I certainly hope it doesn't offend your delicate sensibilities.

The Bugs - Self-Titled

I gotta give a quick shout out to Zodiac Killer Records. You should check them out and give 'em a few bucks. I did a while back and not only did they send me the discs I wanted, but they send me two extra discs. One of which was this one. The Bugs is the obnoxious side project of Queers bassist Dangerous Dave. And here's what their Facebook page has to say:

The Bugs are plain ol' punk band. You won't hear political preaching or crying about a girlfriend. What you get is a band that will take your mind off all the bullshit that goes on in this fucked up world..for a few minutes at least. Well, for a few seconds, depending on what song you listen to.
If you are some PC whiner, please listen to the band and post your comments on some website that nobody with a sense of humor frequents.

So RELAX!, and enjoy.

Anal Cunt - Picnic Of Love

Here's a bonus post for all my special Valentines out there! I got a request for this and have to say what a brilliant idea it was. I must confess I didn't have this one in my collection, but decided it was worth finding. For all you Anal Cunt fans out there I found it on a blog called Cut & Paste. I haven't checked it out much, but they have a large collection of AC. So without further ado, grab your best gal (or your favorite fella), dim the lights and fall in love with the sweet sounds of ANAL CUNT!!!!

I Respect Your Feelings As A Woman And A Human
(unfortunately track #8 is missing from this one)

Sluts - 12" Of Sluts

The Sluts were an early 80's band from New Orleans. This, I believe, is their only release, from 1983. Here's what MRR's Jeff Bale had to say about it:

A raw garage punk album by a band out of New Orleans. The music is exceedingly primitive, with fuzzy two-chord guitar, nasty vocals, and a very fast tempo. I'd recommend it without hesitation on that basis, but the lyrics cross the fine line between scatological humour and gross ignorance on more than one occasion (especially the racist "Poor Blacks"). Still, how can you criticize a record with a song called "Mom's Cunt" on it?

Fear - Live @ WOW Hall, Eugene, OR 10.17.82 + Live On Saturday Night Live 10.31.81

Anyone that has seen 'The Decline Of Western Civilization' (soundtrack HERE) knows Fear was an incredibly rude live band in their heyday. Although this set from 1982 doesn't have the anger it's easily as entertaining. I've also slapped on their infamous performance from Saturday Night Live, the night Fear was released on an unsuspecting (almost) live national audience.

Dayglo Abortions - Here Today, Guano Tomorrow

The Dayglos have been rockin & rollin' for over 30 years now. And lucky for us they still haven't grown up. Here's their 1988 release which contains one of the album covers that led to an obscenity trial in Canada. The other was the classic Feed Us A Fetus. They were cleared and as a result continued making their covers ruder and ruder.

Puke, Spit & Guts - Eat Hot Lead

I've been unable to find a lot of info on this band of degenerates. I did find this humorous description however from the still missed Last Days blog:

The one thing that the punk and biker subcultures of the 1970’s shared was a mutual penchant for nihilism. Remember…the bikers at Altamont were just as responsible for ending the 1960’s dream as The Stooges.

So your average biker rock band dug punk from a totally misanthropic perspective. There were no political opuses from biker-punk bands. There were no positive vibes to be had. They wouldn’t have called your idealistic yearnings and your heart on your sleeve melodrama “emo”. They would just call you a pussy. You woulda been their “punk” in the classical sense.

Instead…biker punk songs were about rape, incest, murder and torture with a double-dose of misogyny thrown in. All set, of course, to 3 chord sub-standard riffage with just a hint of chooglin’ boogie woogie grease.

The pinnacle of the biker punk subgenre was the 1980 classic Eat Hot Lead by Puke Spit and Guts. Look at these fuckers! Dr Worm’s holding a sawed off shotgun and a bottle of bum liquor. Marie Manslaughter? Dick Head? Do I even need to comment on these two degenerates? And of course my favorite…Stuicide. What’s the deal with him?

And this nugget from the still great Glorify The Turd:

I’m not the first person to write about these guys and, according to some Punk historian (Henry Rollins?), bass player Dick Head tried to beat the shit out of Ian MacKaye after he blew his bass amp when the Teen Idles opened for them at a Mentors gig in California. I stare at the picture of Mr. Head and envision him chasing Ian MacKaye around the parking lot. Too bad he didn’t catch him—and kill him!

Any questions?!

Rancid Vat - The Darkest Souls In Rock 'N' Roll

Rancid Vat was born and raised in Portland, OR in 1980. They came of age in Philadelphia, PA in the 90's and are now old and bitter in Austin, TX. Over 30 years of pissing people off... nationwide! A true national treasure. Here is their 1999 release. Unfortunately one song cuts off, but what really makes it all worth it is the final, 25 minute track "Live Radio Fiasco". This truly manages to catch the absolute anarchy of a Rancid Vat show, right down to the sudden ending. Here's a brief description of that broadcast taken from the website of a Real American Hero 'Thee Whiskey Rebel':

Live at WKDU. We played live again on the radio with very different results. We had gotten along well with the professionals at WFMU and it was a let down to play a college station run by crusty punks who smelled bad. We tried to get through our set without cursing. Perfect was the first to "slip" and then the floodgates opened..a tidal wave of profanity. It wound up with the plug being pulled after about 12 minutes, but not before Cosmo threatened over the air to "mentally and physically rape" the station manager who had called in and insisted on kicking us off the air.

In a word: Classic. I've added several hard-to find 7"s to my want list. I'd love it if someone could help a doctor out.

Nihilistics - Fuck The Human Race

From Trouser Press:

The Nihilistics were a stupid, obnoxious hardcore band from Long Island, New York. Their lyrics were predictable banalities, and their attitudinizing was irritating.

Yeah, so? The first Nihilistics full length (found HERE) was an absolute angry masterpiece. You can just feel the hate coming thru. This is their 3rd LP, from 1990. While it does lack some of the full powered hateful aggression, it's still a very good, and very rude release.

I would also like to take this time to thank the mighty Brootlyn Zu for hooking me up with their discography. More of them will slowly ooze onto this site like a picked scab.

Kill Allen Wrench - My Bitch Is A Junky

When International Superstar, Mr. Allen Wrench wasn't leading Punk Rock's Most Important Band, Kill Allen Wrench, he was busy being accused of killing Kurt Cobain and possibly El Duce. Well I can certainly can neither confirm nor deny the validity, a story can be found HERE. I CAN confirm this 1998 release is chock full of songs about Alcohol, Drugs, Sex & Violence. And dammit, I think it's entertaining. By the way, anyone have his 2002 7"?

Chaotic Dischord - Fuck Religion, Fuck Politics, Fuck The Lot Of You + Don't Throw It All Away

The Chaotic Dischord story is, in my opinion, a fantastic chunk of punk rock history. But I'll just screw up the retelling, so I'll let Kill From The Heart provide the story:

The Chaotic Dischord story begins when Simon Edwards of Heartbeat Records label and UK punks Vice Squad were attempting to compile the Riotous Assembly compilation LP in 1981 to document the blossoming UK punk scene. After putting out a request in Sounds for demo tapes from bands wanting to be on the compilation, Simon Edwards was approached by one of the members of Vice Squad's touring entourage with a tape labeled Chaotik Dischord. According to Edwards, "It scared the pants off me! Chaotik Discord had to go on the album." The band name ended up being misspelled on the LP, forever changing the name of the band to Chaotic Dischord.

Chaotic Dischord appeared to be a mystery though. With just a tape, Edwards had no way to contact them except through Vice Squad. Vice Squad then tricked Edwards into thinking Chaotic Dischord were a new band from Swindon, who, according to him, "due to their 'hardcore image,' didn't want to meet the label, or use any of their names - instant punk credibility thought I - foolishly!"

In reality, Chaotic Dischord was comprised of half of Vice Squad along with members of their road crew. Edwards was reportedly not pleased upon finding this out. He got over it though, and the band went on to be the most prolific band on Riot City Records and ironically one of the label's best sellers. The Fuck The World single even reached number 7 on the UK Indie Singles chart. However, not everyone was a fan, especially not Sounds editor Gary Bushell.

The band's music, err, noise, was about as basic as you could get. The songs were sloppy and chaotic with snotty vocals talked, shouted, yelled, screamed, or screeched over the music. This was part of the appeal of the band though since most other UK punk bands were about playing tight and having a great sound. Chaotic Dischord couldn't have given a shit less about that. However, the band did not produce just complete crap for songs. On the contrary, songs such as "Who Killed ET? (I Killed The Fucker!)" and "Cliff" were just as strong, powerful, and anthematic as any other of the top UK punk bands at the time with great, catchy sing-a-long choruses.

Lyircally, the band also employed some of the most blatently offensive, vulgar lyrics the punk rock world has ever heard. Just take a look at any of their song titles to see where they were coming from. They also took shots at political bands such as Chaos U.K. and Ripcord in other songs. Chaotic Dischord was truly one of the first ever (if not the first) "Chaos Punk" bands.

Constantly outdoing themselves, the band naturally became better musicians and tighter as time went on. The songs began to have more structure to them with the release of Now! That's What I Call A Fuckin' Racket in 1985, after the Riot City Records had folded. However, the music still remained good, and the lyrics became more as poignant yet as crude and obscene as ever.

By 1988, the band became imitators of themselves. Very Fuckin' Bad was merely a parody of Goat Fuckin' Virgin Killerz From Hell, and, upon poor record sales, the band disintegrated. Their mark had been left forever though, and their influence can still be clearly be seen in today's punk scene. They will go down in history as one best, or worst, depending on the listener's opinion, punk bands of all time with one of the most befitting band names ever.

Here's the yobs in all their 1983 glory. The version I present here is the 90's re-release that includes the 'Don't Throw It All Away' EP from '84.

GG Allin - Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies

Time to have a little fun. This month we celebrate the dark side of punk rock. The obnoxious side. The RUDE side. That's right, This month is now Feb-RUDE-ary!

And we might as well go straight to the top: Jesus Christ Allin. By 1988 GG was really hitting his stride. The public was afraid. For this LP GG went into the studio with the band Bulge, which is the alter-ego of the band Psycho. The result is 19 tracks of pure rude. Don't be last in line for the gang bang, jump on in to Feb-RUDE-ary!
